Video and Multimedia
ServerApproved seeks to provide captions or appropriate text alternatives for instructional video content where applicable.
Important instructional information should not depend solely on sound where an accessible alternative is appropriate.
Important information presented visually should be supported through an appropriate accessible method where required.
Classroom Accessibility
Students who require an accessibility accommodation for ServerApproved classroom training should contact ServerApproved as early as reasonably possible.
ServerApproved will work with the student to understand the request and determine an appropriate accommodation.
Online Course Accessibility
If a learner encounters an accessibility barrier while using a ServerApproved digital course, contact Help@serverapproved.com.
Please provide:
- Course name
- Page, module, or feature involved
- Description of the problem
- Preferred method for receiving assistance
Students should provide only information reasonably necessary for ServerApproved to understand and address the request.
ServSafe Examination Accommodations
ServerApproved training accommodations and ServSafe certification-examination accommodations involve separate processes.
Students who require accommodation for a ServSafe certification examination must follow ServSafe’s applicable accommodation procedures.
ServerApproved will provide reasonable information and assistance concerning the applicable process when ServerApproved coordinates the examination.
Approval of a ServSafe examination accommodation is governed by the applicable examination provider’s procedures.
ServerApproved In-Person Proctored Exams
Students scheduled for a ServerApproved-managed in-person ServSafe examination should notify ServerApproved of an approved examination accommodation before the scheduled examination date.
This allows ServerApproved to prepare applicable arrangements consistent with the approved accommodation and examination-security requirements.
Remote ServSafe Examinations
Students selecting a remote ServSafe examination must follow ServSafe’s current:
- Registration requirements
- Accommodation process
- Identification requirements
- Scheduling requirements
- Technical requirements
- Remote-proctoring procedures
- Examination-security requirements
ServerApproved does not operate ServSafe’s remote examination system.
Third-Party Platforms
Some ServerApproved services involve independent third-party technology or services.
Accessibility features and procedures for those platforms are controlled by the applicable provider.
Students experiencing a barrier involving a third-party service accessed through a ServerApproved program may contact ServerApproved for reasonable assistance.
Religious Observances
Students requesting a schedule adjustment related to a sincerely held religious observance should contact ServerApproved as early as reasonably possible.
Where appropriate and operationally feasible, a student providing at least 24 hours’ notice may receive one courtesy transfer to another eligible available session without the standard $25 rescheduling fee.
Students do not need to provide unrelated information about their religious beliefs.
Alternative Formats
Where appropriate, ServerApproved may provide eligible training information or materials in an alternative accessible format.
Availability depends on:
- Nature of the material
- Program requirements
- Requested accommodation
- Intellectual-property restrictions
- Examination-security requirements
- Technical feasibility
Secure Assessments
An accessibility accommodation does not authorize unauthorized copying, photographing, recording, publication, or distribution of secure ServerApproved assessments or third-party examination materials.
ServerApproved will seek an appropriate accommodation while preserving applicable assessment and examination-security requirements.
